Bike Elevator

I vividly remember watching ABC Nightline's profile on David Kelly and the famous design Company IDEO. Something stuck in my brain about their methods, particularly the spirit of trying things first, asking permission later. When I moved to Chicago, my first apartment was in a little rickety coach house only accessible by narrow gangway. It was difficult to get my bike in and out, and then up the stairs to my apartment. So I built an elevator that reached over into my neighbor's driveway. I never got told to take it down even when I moved out.

Spice Chess

There's something very satisfying about a spice jar. They're just a nice size to hold in your hand. I felt like these artifacts could have a second life so I made a modern, minimalist chess set and a board that also serves and the box.
